Jolie Curtsinger, artistic director

graphicspacerAs Co-Artisitic Director of InProximity, Jolie is so proud of this company and all its accomplished. She was seen in InProximity’s productions of John Corwin's NAVY PIER at Theatre Row as well as Craig Wright’s ORANGE FLOWER WATER and Nicky Silver’s THE MAIDEN’S PRAYER (both at Theatre 54). Other New York stage credits include ALMOST, MAINE and ONE THING I LIKE TO SAY IS (both at Access Theater with the Cockeyed Optimists Theatre Company) and The DARE Project (Wings Theater). L.A. Stage credits include the West Coast premiere of Adam Boch’s SWIMMING IN THE SHALLOWS, Joe Orton’s LOOT, the World Premiere of CHEYENNE, and the US Premiere of Emma Frost’s AIRSICK. She would like to thank everyone who has joined InProximity on its journey so far for their support and loyalty; and sends special love, light, and gratitude to her husband and baby girl


Michael Poignand, actor/associate producer

graphicspacer2Michael Poignand* (Kurt) is thrilled to be working with his good friends at InProximity Theatre again. Since playing Brad in InProximity's 'Orange Flower Water,' Poignand's NY theatre credits include: 'Wonder of the World' at the Shell Theater, 'The Would-be Room' at Columbia University's Shapiro Theater and 'Pretenšiˇn' at PS122. In that same time period, Poignand also played a Sailor (et al.) in the Steve Wargo/Keith Varney extravaganza 'Scooby Doosicle', Paddy in Bryn Boice's 'The Merry Way' and Matt Johnson in 'The Disillusion Room' by Jimmie Galaites as part of TXD Theatre's Dare Project. Recent on-camera projects include multiple episodes of 'A Toby Prepares' on and an industrial for NASA.


Bryn Boice, director/actor

graphicspacer2aBryn Boice (Director) is proud to be a part of yet another InProximity Theatre venture, having directed their inaugural production in 2009, Orange Flower Water by Craig Wright, and acted in Sight Unseen by Donald Margulies last fall. She received an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Direction from American Globe Theater's 2010 Turnip Festival. Boice is a member of taxdeductible theatre company and is co-creator of The Dare Project, an ongoing series of new ten-minute plays written on audience dares ( She is also a newly-inducted member of The Cockeyed Optimists theatre company ( and a die-hard fan of many others. She loves Daphne the French Bulldog, friends, family and pancakes.


Amy Altadonna, sound designer

graphicspacer2a1Amy couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with InProximity again; she previously designed Orange Flower Water and Maiden’s Prayer with this wonderful team. Other credits include Milk (New Georges), Twelfth Night (The Pearl), Private Lives (Utah Shakespearean Festival), Uncle Vanya (dir. Erica Schmidt, Bard Summerscape), The Unmentionables (dir. Anna Shapiro, Yale Repertory Theatre), Marat/Sade (recomposed for rock band at YSD), and On the Verge (Warehouse Theatre). She currently divides her time between theatre and audio-post for film. Education: B.A. Music, William and Mary; M.F.A. Sound Design, Yale School of Drama. (theatre), (film).


Jasmin Sanchez, stage manager

Ari Rossen, actor

Laurie Schaefer, artistic director

graphicspacer1Laurie Schaefer has loved the theatre for as long as she can remember. Hailing from Missouri, she graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in Theatre Education and Theatre Performance. She has worked in various television, film and stage projects on both the east and west coasts. Most recently, she has been seen in InProximity’s last four productions, as Beth in Orange Flower Water by Craig Wright, as Cynthia in The Maiden’s Prayer by Nicky Silver, as Patricia in Sight Unseen by Donald Margulies, and as Liv in Navy Pier by John Corwin. Laurie is so proud of all the amazing people who work with InProximity and awe-inspired by those that have helped us make this dream happen.


Jenna Gottlieb, stage manager/associate producer

James J. Fenton, scenic designer

graphicspacer2bJames Fenton has been a professional designer and artist since 1995 in New York, San Francisco, Ashland (OR), Florence (Italy), Spain, Edinburgh (Scotland), Croatia, and Bosnia. Recent designs include InProximity Theatre Company’s critically acclaimed productions of Sight Unseen and The Maiden’s Prayer, Fefu and Her Friends at Ramapo College, Closer Than Ever for the St. Bart’s Players, 7 Stories for the Strain Theater Company’s, and all productions at PPAS NY produced by Waterwell and The Actor’s Institute. Upcoming projects are Greetings! for Penguin Rep, Oklahoma! and Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 for Tent Theatre(Missouri State University) and Captain Ferguson’s School of Balloon Warfare for Oracle Theatre Company. James has also designed for the American Conservatory Theatre,Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lorainne Hansberry Theatre, Shotgun Players of Berkeley, InsightOut Theatre Collective, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Crowded Fire Theatre Co. and has been an Associate Scenic Designer at NYC Opera, Lincoln Center Theatre, Juilliard School of Drama, Radio City Music Hall, and many of the most prominent Regional Theatres in the country.


Lisa Soverino, lighting designer

graphicspacer2b1Lisa Soverino is a Chicago native with a BFA in Lighting Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After college, Lisa ran away with the circus joining Ringling Brother's and Barnum and Bailey's 136th Edition. In additon to InProximity, she works with NY based companies such as the Cockeyed Optimists, Sinking Ship Productions, Theatre The, Atomic Clown, and Circus Bambouk as well as Circus Smirkus in Vermont and Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, Florida. WhenLisa isn't playing in theatres with clowns, she travels as a project manager for super important corporate events.


Jonathan Todd Ross, actor

Favorite Stage Roles include: Sal in 100 Years Into the Heart (NYMF), Eugene in By Proxy (CAP21), Paul in The Maiden's Prayer (Theater 54), Gull in Cloaked (CAP21) Fonzie in Happy Days: The Musical, written/directed by series' creator Garry Marshall (Falcon Theater, Los Angeles). Film/TV: The Bronx Is Burning, Guiding Light, One Life to Live. Animated Series include: Yugioh, One Piece, TMNT, Pokemon, GI Joe, and more. Jonathan can be seen/heard in numerous commercials and audiobooks, including Jonathan Safran Foer's Eating Animals and the Award Winning Swindle. As a writer, Jonathan has written the one-act collection Tall Tales of True Stories (440 Studios) and has just completed his first novel. Love and thanks to his parents and Brigit for their steadfast support.


Brent Vimtrup, actor

graphicspacer2b1a1Brent Vimtrup is thrilled to be working with InProximity Theatre Company. InProximity audiences may remember him as Nick in SIght Unseen or David in ORANGE FLOWER WATER, directed by the talented Bryn Boice. Some favorite credits include: LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE (Syracuse Stage), THE VOYSEY INHERITANCE (Milwaukee Rep), KING LEAR (Riverside Theatre Shakespeare Festival), ROMEO AND JULIET (National Shakespeare Company), THE COCKTAIL HOUR and SUNSHINE BOYS (Monomoy Theatre), BREAD AND BUTTER (Provincetown Playhouse) and most recently MACBETH (Promethean Theatre Company). Brent is currently in rehearsals for STAND FAST, written by Ron Brawer & Tom Wirtshafter and directed by Michael Page, which will be performing on the main stage of the HERE Arts Center as part of FringeNYC in August. Brent is a proud member of Actors Equity.
